Painting is my second career following working in finance and hotel development/management. However, art was always a constant in my life from college on and it has been a joy to be able to devote more time to it. In addition to painting, I love quilting and cooking.
StatementI look to find whimsy, openness and joy in my paintings. Whether using watercolor or acrylic I focus on the play of colors and spatial relationships trying to balance the details with the broad strokes. My work is non-representational and frequently evokes the sense of something physical and recognizable. I returned to painting after a career in business and find the freedom from structure to be liberating.
